‘The Last Ship’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Guilt,’ ‘Episodes’ alum in as MI-6 agent
While the fourth season of “The Last Ship” may not be airing on TNT until we roll around to the summer, it’s never too early to start getting some further casting news! This is, after all, how we’ve got to the latest update that we have for you to day.
Per a new report coming in via Deadline, Jonathan Howard (“Guilt,” “Episodes”) is going to be coming aboard (ship pun intended) the upcoming batch of episodes in the key role of James Fletcher, a man with some significant stakes in everything that is going on globally. He is a commander in the British Royal Navy, and he also just so happens to have ties to MI-6 as an agent. Clearly, this is a guy with a lot going on within this post-apocalyptic universe!
As for how he will be roped in with the remainder of the story, we’re going to be seeing Fletcher collaborate with the crew of the USS Nathan James in order to further ensure that there are some stolen items that are recovered for the overall good of the entire planet. He will be working in particular with Bridget Regan’s character of Sasha.
So what about Eric Dane’s character of Tom Chandler? Going into the start of this season, that is one of the larger questions given that the character made the decision to walk away from the James at the end of last season, feeling as though he was no longer fit to lead the ship. We’ll see if he continues to harbor that same guilt and pain in the early going this coming season, or if he does start to finally come around.
