‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Sam Lavery, Saara Aalto, or Four of Diamonds eliminated?
Tonight, “The X Factor” is airing its latest results show, which is mostly just significant because we’re moving the field down from the top eight to the top seven. Everyone’s already on the tour at this point, so it’s all about just trying to figure out of these contestants will get some further glory attached to their name.
Going into the show, all conventional wisdom suggested that we’d be seeing either Ryan Lawrie or Four of Diamonds leaving the show given that both had multiple experiences in the bottom three already. Also, there was a slight chance that voters would finally turn on Honey G given that there is a pretty-large contingent of people out there who will never vote for her in a billion years. We also had a slight amount of concern for one Saara Aalto, given that she’s someone who has experienced danger before, and while we’ve noticed a surge for her in terms of popularity the past few weeks, that’s no real guarantee of anything.
Now that we’ve set the stage, let’s get into the remainder of the results!
Lifeline vote – Things started to go a little haywire when Ryan was spared before we even got to the bottom three on the night. Then, we had Honey G declared safe and there was much rage across all of Britain. Basically, this meant that we’d have some newcomers to the bottom. The vote was between Sam Lavery (!), Saara, and Four of Diamonds, with Sam being the recipient of the vote! We prefer Saara as a whole, not no major qualms with this.
Showdown – It’s Saara vs. Four of Diamonds, and on paper this should be a blowout. Saara was probably only in this position because of some criticism of the style and costuming for her performance on Saturday — we also didn’t love the song choice. Yet, she’s an incredible singer and she absolutely owned this sing-off. To be fair, we do think that Four of Diamonds did as well as they possibly could under these circumstances. Yet, the judges made the right choice. Four of Diamonds are going home.
