‘The X Factor’ UK group Four of Diamonds deals with internet hate after Gifty Louise elimination
Today, we’re getting our first live performance show of “The X Factor” since the most stunning elimination of the season. Gifty Louise shouldn’t have gone home from our vantage point over Four of Diamonds, but that doesn’t mean it was the girl group’s fault. What we do understand about the reaction to this news is why Gifty leaving automatically must = tearing down the singers who stayed on social media, as though they were somehow nefarious and behind precisely what went down.
Of course, Four of Diamonds have had a difficult week dealing with this, and probably are entering this weekend in a tough place given that they have to go and perform again, but feel like so many people are against them. Luckily, they do have each other to rely on. This is something that band member Caroline Alvarez commented on further in an interview with the Daily Star leading up to the next new episode of the show:
“It was hurtful to read them. We definitely have our days where there are tears, but we are all so close we pick each other up. We were shocked that Gifty went, but it’s the nature of the contest that someone had to go that night.
“We all share the same dream so we have decided to use any negativity as motivation to do better and get fans on our side.”
Our advice to Four of Diamonds is to first and foremost move past all of the Gifty hate, and recognize that there are going to be plenty of fans out there who you’re simply not going to be able to win over. That’s just the reality of the situation. From there, what they need to do is simply put their personality and stamp of originality out there. They have the vocal talent and they’ve proven that, but we’re not sure the picture is altogether crystal clear just yet as to precisely who they are as a group.
