TV Quick Hits: ‘Quantico’ season 2, ‘UnREAL’ season 3 scoop; ‘K.C. Undercover’ renewed
Let’s begin this edition of our TV Quick Hits over at ABC’s “Quantico,” a show that is certainly in need of some sort of extra boost after posting some of its lowest ratings to date on this past episode. How is it planning to get some more people talking about the new season? It could start with getting a “Hamilton” actor on board!
In a post on Twitter — which you can see at the bottom of this article — Javier Muñoz (who played the title character in the Lin-Manuel Miranda Broadway show) confirmed that he will be appearing in an upcoming season 2 episode. It’s definitely news worth being psyched-up about, even if there’s not too much else that we can say about it for the time being. We just think that any chance “Quantico” or any other New York City set show has to try to capitalize on the success of “Hamilton” is one worth taking.
As for some other news on the day…
“UnREAL” to have a female suitor – Stars Shiri Appleby and Constance Zimmer revealed this news during a lovely session on Facebook Tuesday, and we do think this’ll help to reinvigorate the show somewhat after a pretty rough go at things during season 2. For the record, we don’t hate the season anywhere near as much as some critics around the internet do, but it didn’t have that freshness or spark that we had the first time around.
Season 3 will premiere on Lifetime this summer.
More “K.C. Undercover” is coming – Zendaya will return to the Disney Channel as the title character for a third season. This news isn’t a shock to us given that the Disney Channel should want to keep the show around given its good ratings — we just wondered whether its star’s burgeoning film career, which includes a big role in “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” would make it harder to keep her on board.
