‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Saara Aalto, Four of Diamonds, Honey G song choices for Fright Night

The latest news -This weekend’s new episode of “The X Factor” is going to be themed all around Halloween music, so there should be some opportunities in here to get some interesting song choices inspired by October 31. Fright Night is the theme!

Unfortunately, after looking at all of the choices, we do certainly think that there are a few stretches in here. We understand that this is not necessarily the easiest theme in the world to match up songs to, but you could do a little bit better than this … right?

Matt Terry: Nina Simone – I Put a Spell on You. Love this choice. There’s a ton of passion that can be put into it, and that’s a great thing given that one of the most difficult things about some of these songs is that it’ll be hard to get that sort of edge into them.

Ryan Lawrie: Backstreet Boys – Everybody. Really? We don’t know all of the lyrics to the song, but we’re pretty sure we don’t think of Halloween when we hear it on the radio.

Emily Middlemas: Creep – Radiohead. To a certain extent, this makes sense. Let’s just hope that this is a stripped-down arrangement as opposed to some huge, booming number that ends up swallowing her whole.

Sam Lavery: Bonnie Tyler – Total Eclipse of the Heart. REALLY don’t get this one as a Halloween song at all.

Gifty Louise: Fifth Harmony – I’m In Love With a Monster. It’s Syco synergy, and if that wasn’t enough for you, this song is also from “Hotel Transylvania 2.”

Honey G: Will Smith – Men in Black. This will probably be a lot like her “Ice, Ice, Baby” performance: Pretty cheesy, and she’ll probably only sing / rap a certain percentage of it.

Saara Aalto: Lady Gaga – Bad Romance. Love the choice. It has a ton of vocal theatrics to it, and it will allow her to show off some of her quirky sense of style.

5 After Midnight: Michael Jackson – Thriller. Typically, we’d be wary about anyone covering Michael Jackson. Not here.

Four of Diamonds: Ella Henderson – Ghost. Good song, but how you make this solo song into one for four singers remains to be seen.
