‘Hawaii Five-0’ season 7, episode 6 review: Max’s return; Kono and Adam survive the hunt

Last time on “Hawaii Five-0” we saw Kono and Adam finally be reunited, but even more then that we saw  Adam is still the same man he once was – kind, loving and cares for others. Prison hasn’t changed him.

Here’s the bad news when it comes to tonight’s new episode: The two still had to find a way to solve a rather deadly situation that they uncovered by sheer accident – a death cult who were turning the time close to Halloween into a killing game as they made their own horror movies. We’ve all heard horror-stories at some point in our lives about crazy, horrendous people who are actually out there hunting other human beings, and of course we don’t want to believe that it’s real. Unfortunately, in this case it was real, but Kono and Adam were able to team up and escape while getting some of these people arrested to boot. This was a scary story for the two of them at times, and we can’t say enough how much we like having Adam out of prison.

Elsewhere in the episode, we had the return of Max following sabbatical, which included some marriage news! We wish we would’ve seen it, but given that we constantly get the shaft on Max stories sometimes, it makes sense. His investigation into a body, though, did lead us further into a rather odd case of the night regarding a woman who appeared on the surfaced to be “scared to death.” Of course, there was much more to this mystery than it appeared at first glance (there almost always is), but at least this case proved itself to be a fun little Halloween jaunt — at least by Five-0 standards.

If you wanted some Halloween fun, then this was the episode for you. It touched on a number of great Halloween themes with Kono and Adam being part of a real life horror film, Danny and Steve investigating a haunted house and Jerry going trick or treating. Luckily, the 150th episode is right around the corner, and there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate further then. Episode gradeA-
