‘Pretty Little Liars’ series finale: Torrey DeVitto says farewell to playing Melissa Hastings
We reported a little earlier this month that “Pretty Little Liars” is going to be filming its series finale at present, and that there could be a series of guest stars that show up either before or during the episode. While we cannot confirm 100% that Torrey DeVitto is going to reprise her role as Melissa Hastings during this particular episode, we know that we’re going to be seeing her turn up at some point around the end of the road.
Now, we’ve also got a rather sweet message from the actress, who found the time in the midst of a busy “Chicago Med” schedule in order to appear. In a post recently on her official Instagram page, the actress said the following about saying goodbye to a show that became a home-away-from-home for her while she did many jobs elsewhere:
“And now, it’s time to say my final goodbye … In the wee hours of this morning I did my final scenes as Melissa Hastings. I don’t think it’s quite hit me that this show that so quickly became like a home base for me, or that this character whom I have learned so much from and grew SO much with is now over. So much has happened over these last 7 years, but through all these changes, ‘pretty little liars’ stood as a constant space to go back to. Thank you to everyone involved and thank you to all who love and watch this show. It’s been such an honor to play this character and work with such an amazing cast and crew. And a special thank you to [creator Marlene King] for creating this world for us all to get lost in. Feeling so grateful for you and these last 7 years”
By the end of this finale, many long-in-demand answers will likely be handed down, and (hopefully) we’ll get a chance to see if many of these characters could have a happy ending. We’re not quite sure Melissa is going to have that happy ending just yet, given that she’s always been somewhat of a mysterious character; still, we’re going to hold out hope.
