‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Leslie Jones has some fun with Tom Hanks

SNL -We wondered yesterday if “Saturday Night Live” was going to release a more substantial preview anytime soon for their upcoming episode with Tom Hanks, and we’re certainly now pleased to have an answer!

As you can see below, Tom filmed a quick series of promos with cast member Leslie Jones, and we feel like for the most part these fit the bill of being what you’d want: Silly, lighthearted, and worthy of getting excited for the weekend. This is Tom’s first hosting gig on the show in a decade, but he’s appeared on the show close to ten times and knows a thing or two about how to be great in this environment. He’s fun, he’s quick on his feet in terms of wit, and he’s game to do a lot of different stuff. In short, we’re very happy to have him back.

As for Leslie, we’re really glad that the producers decided to use her here, since she’s got a pretty good natural chemistry with Tom and hopefully, the two get a chance to do a few actual sketches together during the show.

Now that we’ve said that, you probably still are going to be starting off this weekend’s show with yet another epic debate featuring Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton and Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump. These two have been cornerstones of the season so far, and there won’t be another chance to officially do this during the election cycle. (In other words, wait four years — or two years, since it feels like Presidential elections last that long at this point.)

We’ll be back later this weekend with another preview, and hopefully this time around it’ll feature musical guest Lady Gaga. You can see all of our “SNL” coverage now by heading over to our official archive. (Photo: NBC.)
