‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7: Torrey DeVitto of ‘Chicago Med’ will return before series finale

We’re sure someone in the “Pretty Little Liars” writers room or on set, creator Marlene King had a list of names that she’d love to see appear on the show at some point before we get around to the series finale. With that in mind, we have a feeling that Torrey DeVitto was fairly high on the list. Melissa Hastings has routinely been one of the series’ better characters; she lives her life shrouded in mystery, she’s got a complex relationship with Spencer and her family, and there’s been routinely this sentiment that she knows more than she lets on. Does she know a thing or two about Spencer’s true lineage? We’ve wondered that ever since the cliffhanger ending of the summer season.

While we have no firm answer on that, we can tell you that DeVitto will return as this character before the series finale, which is currently filming, wraps up on Freeform in the spring. (This was first reported by THR.)

We imagine that with Torrey, the biggest struggle was merely one of scheduling. Remember here that her show “Chicago Med” films (natch) in Chicago, while “Pretty Little Liars” is stationed out of Los Angeles. It’s not often easy to make that move, especially given demanding production schedules. We don’t know how or when it all worked out here, but we’re rather happy that it did.

The final ten episodes of “Pretty Little Liars” will begin airing this April, and there are many challenges awaiting the entire cast as we approach the end of the story. We’re going to have to figure out if there is a way for the Liars to stop the new threat on their lives, while finally starting to unravel while all of this happened to them in the first place.
