‘Saturday Night Live’: Donald Trump unsurprisingly hates Alec Baldwin portrayal of him

SNL -How quickly the table turns when it comes to “Saturday Night Live“! At this time last November, everyone was talking about / criticizing the decision NBC made to hire Donald Trump as a host, which was something he seemed keen to take part in. He is the only Presidential candidate to have hosted the show in the middle of an election, and while Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton each made cameos in the past season, neither had the screen time he did.

Flash forward one year later, and now Trump is referring to the show as “boring and unfunny” while proclaiming that it is “time to retire” it after 42 seasons. Also, he seems to think of it as evidence of the media “rigging” the election. We understand Trump having enough grievances to celebrate Festivus for years, but to go after a satire show that has actually been somewhat good to him in the past? That’s a new one.

Obviously, you can argue that Trump these days, thanks to Alec Baldwin’s brilliant portrayal of him, is getting it way worse than Hillary (as played by Kate McKinnon) is. Yet, at the same time Trump is giving them so much more material with his own actions and controversies out there. Without getting too far into politics, the scandals that Hillary is being plagued with just aren’t as good for comedy.

Ultimately, regardless of you’re affiliation you probably feel like Trump has way more important problems than going after “SNL” — for us, the debate sketch below from last night is probably the only part of it really worthy of a re-watch. The fact that Trump hates it so probably just makes Baldwin and the writers happy.
