‘The Blacklist’ season 4, episode 5 preview: On James Spader, Megan Boone, and character trust issues
Where exactly will the story go from here on “The Blacklist” next week? Through much of the season so far, one of the major themes has been who Liz Keen can trust and who she can’t. Alexander Kirk claims to be her father, Reddington is Reddington, and while Tom may have the best interests of his family at heart, at the same time he chooses to go about things in his own way, often without regard for how others feel about it.
Much of these trust issues could culminate on the show next week with “The Lindquist Concern,” an episode that will feature Kirk once again at the center of it all when Red decides to make a move on him. Is it possible than Liz could side against her longtime “partner,” if you want to call him that? The reality with this show is that anything is possible, even if that anything is something that seems rather crazy on the surface.
Synopsis – “Liz’s (Megan Boone) loyalties are tested as Red (James Spader) takes action on an operation to intercept Alexander Kirk. Meanwhile the Task Force races to find a killer who targets inventors of revolutionary technology.”
We feel for the Task Force at the moment — with all that we’re seeing right now with Red and Liz, it’s getting hard to be amped-up about anything else that is going on with this show.
Promo – This is where things get interesting. While Liz certainly does not trust Kirk at the moment, Red may also be giving her further reason to doubt him: A DNA report, which suggests that he may have lied to her this entire time about her father. She’s going to be desperate to get her baby back, and with that of course comes more danger for everyone.
