TV Quick Hits: ‘This Is Us’ episode 3 preview; ’24: Legacy’ scores ’24’ alum; ‘Fraggle Rock’ remastered for HBO

24 -Let’s start off this particular edition of TV Quick Hits with news that show make all fans of the “24” franchise super-happy, or at least those who are willing to give “24: Legacy” a chance: One of the more notable characters from the original series is coming back!

In a statement, Fox recently confirmed that Carlos Bernard is going to be appearing on the show as Tony Almeida, the character he played for several seasons alongside Kiefer Sutherland. This is a chance for the show to play up the “legacy” part of their title, and that may be especially useful given how unsure we are that Sutherland will be returning as Jack Bauer. With the success of ABC’s “Designated Survivor,” he will be rather busy for a while.

“24: Legacy” will be premiering in February, as the show has the super-prestigious opportunity to follow up Super Bowl LI on Fox.

“Fraggle Rock” returning – The beloved Jim Henson children’s show from the mid-1980’s is going to be re-airing, per Deadline, on HBO and its digital platforms by the end of the year. Not only that, but it will be remastered for modern audiences to better enjoy. While of course we’d prefer new episodes, this could be a way for parents to introduce this series to their own children, and create more bonding moments for families. Or, maybe it’ll just be a chance for viewers to get more in touch with their youth.

This Is Us” preview – If you’re looking for a small tease for Tuesday’s new episode (back after a week away), People Magazine has a preview that will give you a sense of how Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) are preparing to come home from the hospital with their babies. As the doctor warns them, this part is more difficult than actually having the children. We know in the future that they all grow up, but judging from what we saw from Rebecca in the future, her romantic life has certainly changed. (Photo: Fox.)
