‘Poldark’ season 2, episode 7 preview: Drama ahead for Aidan Turner’s Ross, Elizabeth, George

Poldark -

Nothing ever is easy for Ross Poldark, now is it? Every time there is a major step forward with the character, something else happens that drags him even further into the dirt. To think, it’s not even like there was a “major step forward” in Sunday’s episode to compensate for what happened to Francis Poldark. We know this mostly because nothing can erase the loss of a family member, and Ross, despite having Caroline pay out his debts, may not be out of the woods financially just yet.

What we do at least know moving into this coming episode is that Aidan Turner’s character at least has a plan, and this for now may be enough of a reason to celebrate.

Synopsis – “Ross joins a smuggling trip in the Isles of Scilly in order to meet Mark Daniel but, in his absence, George moves in on Elizabeth. Caroline convinces Dwight they must elope for a new life in Bath, and Captain McNeil plans to ambush the smugglers on their return.”

Of course George would pull something like try to get in with Elizabeth, mostly because he has a hobby in further proving to be the worst human being imaginable. As for Caroline and Dwight, isn’t this all moving rather fast? Is there a reason for further suspicion here? There should be questions that Dwight is answering given the quick progression of the situation, but that may because of our cynical nature. In truth, they’ve overcome a lot of obstacles and we do root for them.

Preview – While Ross and Demelza are in a good place now, will it stay that way with him spending time away? That is one key question, and based on what we saw after tonight’s episode, there is going to be perhaps more violence and action ahead than we’ve seen in a few weeks’ time.
