“Black Sails” season 4 – Get ready to see the return of the Starz drama on Sunday, January 29 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. The obvious change here is that this is the first time that the series is airing on Saturdays, and this is in general a trend that started off earlier this year with “Power.” This move is to try and get better live ratings for many of the network’s programs; it certainly worked with “Power,” so we’ll see what happens here.
What’s especially worth noting is that this is the final season for “Black Sails,” so expect big things for Flint and company as we near a conclusion.
“Outsiders” season 2 – Meanwhile, the WGN America drama is going to be returning with new episodes in its own right on Tuesday, January 24. The video below should offer up a chance to see what you can expect.
Finally, “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” – Remember when this franchise was launched in movie form featuring Jim Carrey? Well, that didn’t go anywhere, but expect this to be another opportunity for it to work. Given that Netflix doesn’t do too much wrong — and they have Patrick Warburton as Snicket in the video below — there’s reason to be optimistic.
This series will launch for the service on Friday, January 13, which really is the perfect date when you think for a minute about what we’re talking about in terms of a franchise.
