NBC’s ‘The Voice’ video: Whitney & Shannon perform ‘Landslide’

The Voice -

Hey, it’s a duo act on “The Voice“! Remember when that used to be a selling point of what made this show interesting and different? The problem is that other than the Swon Brothers, we’re not sure that a single duo act has come off of this show since the beginning and made an enormous pop-culture impression. We’d absolutely like to see that change, and maybe Whitney & Shannon are the two who can make it happen.

If you look below, you can see the two sisters perform the Dixie Chicks’ version of the classic Fleetwood Mac song “Landslide.” It’s folksy, ethereal, and really lovely to listen to. They hit the notes and nail the harmonies, and there’s an earnestness to it that makes us think they will connect with voters all over the country if they make it to the live shows.

As for who they should pick as a coach, there’s an interesting case to be made for all of them.

Adam Levine – Adam has actually worked with Stevie Nicks before as an adviser for his team, and he grew up listening to a lot of classic rock. His musical sensibility makes a lot of sense here.

Miley Cyrus – At the same time, Miley herself has dabbled in folk music before, and if they have more country leanings, she also has the connections to make that work.

Blake Shelton – If we were them, we’d pick Blake given that he made it work with the Swon Brothers; while they may not be strictly country artists, we do think he understands their music enough to help them.

Alicia Keys – She may be the biggest underdog on paper when it comes to her music, but she probably gives a more passionate pitch here than anyone.

Who do you think these two ladies should select? Let us know below!
