‘Masters of Sex’ season 4, episode 5 preview: The trial; could Bill, Libby reconcile?

Tonight, “Masters of Sex” gave us an episode that brought out drama, arguments, awkward romance, and … swingers? It really had almost everything! Moving into next week, the show will have to do its best to top all of that with a trial. Bill and Virginia are going to have to do their best to hope they can get out of this okay and move on with their careers, but at the same time, they have to face the reality that nothing is guaranteed. That’s certainly a scary proposition.

If you want to get a few more details on what to expect from this story, we feel like the TV Guide synopsis offers them up:

“Johnson and Masters’ legal troubles come to a head as the trial begins with Keller leading the charge. Johnson, assuming they’re to be exonerated, does her best to revive their careers, while Masters faces the reality of what these charges could mean for him, Johnson and the practice.”

As for the promo below, it tackles a different subject: The future for Bill and Libby. Following what happened on tonight’s episode, these two may look towards having a future together once more. Here’s the problem that comes with that, and it extends far beyond just the two of them and into most real-life situations: You don’t want to run the risk always of revisiting your past, given that sometimes, it can lead to some unexpected and rather-unfortunate consequences. These two will have to face whatever comes as a result of their decisions here, and it could include changes for Bill and Virginia.
