‘Shameless’ season 7, episode 2 preview: Frank starts a ‘new life’

Shameless -

Tonight, “Shameless” is premiering on Showtime with new episodes, and with that we’ve got a pretty darn good opportunity to see what’s happening with the Gallagher family in the wake of what happened last season. Things aren’t great between Frank and the rest of his family, Fiona is trying to get her life back on track, and we certainly saw that coming home from rehab did not necessarily equate to Lip deciding to stop drinking for good.

So how will these stories carry into next week’s new episode? Then check out, per SpoilerTV, the official synopsis below:

“Ready to disown his family, Frank takes Liam under wing and starts a new life barricaded on the top floor of the Gallagher home. Fiona, meanwhile, adopts a new, relaxed attitude and starts running Patsy’s Pies on her own terms. Debbie gets into trouble in the stroller business; Ian tries out heterosexuality; and Carl finds himself forced into abstinence.”

Even some of these little details sound hilarious in some way, including Frank deciding to live on his own or what Ian and Carl are going to be doing to more than likely no avail.

What may be the biggest surprise of all to some people out there is the mere fact that there is an episode airing next week, given that the Presidential debate on the air is probably going to command tens of millions of viewers elsewhere. Ultimately, we don’t quite think that Showtime is altogether concerned about that for one reason and one reason only: They don’t have to rely on live numbers so much for success. As long as their viewers watch at some point, they are happy.
