At the end of this past episode of “Gotham,” we had a chance to see the return of Leslie Thompkins to the city after an extended period of time away. We wondered what her return would mean exactly, especially once you were able to remember for a moment that Jim and Valerie Vale shared a romantic moment together. Would these feelings evaporate in the event that Jim saw his ex again?
Well, the sneak peek below makes things all the more complicated, as we are introduced for the first time to Mario, Lee’s new fiance. Apparently, Mario is a doctor in his own right, and Jim has to sit there and be patched-up by the guy while hearing about this new relationship. Is it awkward? Certainly so. What we imagine makes it even more so is Jim “joking” that he will kill him if he does anything to hurt him … or at least we think it’s a joke. It’s hard to say with this sort of situation, and it’s gotta be really rough for Mario here.
Luckily for Mario, Jim’s got other things to deal with at present, such as the aftermath of what happened with Fish Mooney (who could be MIA for a little while) and also the current state of Gotham with the Penguin picking up steam. There’s also the arrival of Jervis Tetch a.k.a. the Mad Hatter to the city coming up, and we gotta think that’ll be problematic.
