‘The X Factor’ UK video: Ottavio and Bradley’s ‘pool party’

With the Judges Houses phase of “The X Factor” starting up this weekend, we’re getting a chance to see some great performances in locations all over the world — but then also probably some assorted nonsense. We certainly think that for Ottavio and Bradley, the video below falls within that category.

Basically, the two get so caught up in their antics in the preview below that one of them falls in the pool. Remember here that the idea is to put on a performance for Louis Walsh and his fellow advisers in Fleur East and “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Alesha Dixon.

Ultimately, there’s nothing in here musically for us to even judge, but we still think based on personality that these two could end up being performers in the live shows. Remember that Louis does love the “camp groups,” and these two are the sort who could generate a ton of drama for the week or two that they are on the show before forward.

Here’s where the problem comes in for Louis: We do understand the temptation to put these guys through, especially since producers would probably want it. The issue here is why you’d want to spend a spot on a pair of people with almost no chance to win the competition. We don’t get the sense that they are a Jedward sort of act with a cult following; they feel a little more like Blonde Electra a.k.a. Blonde Electra, who were entertaining in their own way but eliminated really early on in the live shows.
