‘The X Factor’ UK: Ivy Grace Paredes explains leaving competition over ‘visa issues’

The latest news -This season of “The X Factor” has had its fair share of behind-the-scenes drama, and of the largest examples of this has come via Ivy Grace Paredes. The singer from the Philippines was forced to withdraw from the competition at the last minute due to some visa issues, and we’re starting to get a further sense of precisely what that entails.

Speaking in a new interview with Gulf News, the singer (who now spends much of her time Dubai) made it clear that her primary issue is that she applied for a visa to America (where the Overs filmed the Judges Houses portion of the competition) in the wrong category, which resulted in a delay that rendered her unable to travel. She explained further in a new post on Facebook:

“After the delay in the issuance of my visa, I was not able to continue in the competition. Though I am devastated with this kind of exit, I am still hopeful for the future. I left UK with a little heavy heart. I did all that I can. I know I gave the best that I could. In my heart I did not lose the battle. Perhaps, this is not the right time to show to the world my full capacity as a singer.. yet.”

The good news for Ivy Grace here is that since she did not make it past Judges Houses, she will be eligible for a return someday if she so chooses to take another kick at the can. The reality for here in particular is that there are so many different opportunities that may come her way before then, but maybe she’ll decide that there is some value in trying to go for this yet again.
