NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Josh Halverson, Kaylee Metzger, Lane Mack perform in latest auditions

VoiceTonight, “The Voice” is airing a slightly different episode than usual, and there’s a pretty simple reason why: The Presidential Debates. Because of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump we’re only getting one hour of auditions as opposed to the typical two. It’s possible that this episode may be crammed full of auditions as a result of that! Time will tell.

Be sure to refresh this page still, as we’re going to have some further updates as the night goes on.

Bindi Liebowitz – We begin the auditions tonight with a classic showdown between Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, one that ended positively for Bindi. While this wasn’t a pitch-perfect vocal by any means, we feel like her energy and power were the reason she got some love — and then eventually a coach. Team Adam.

Elia Esparza – Another very good audition! We just think she’s got a good vibe in her hopes towards becoming a pop star, and what makes this particular pairing work in our eyes is that we don’t necessarily think that Adam has another artist like her. Team Adam.

Lane Mack – We gotta admit that we didn’t realize that Lane was Miley Cyrus’ first guy on her team until she announced it, but we’re rather glad that he’s there! He’s a bluesy guy with a cool look and a unique sound that should be able to work with her to come up with some unique songs. Team Miley.

Karlee Metzger – Another great, fun performer, and another addition to Team Miley. We love folk singers, and as a result of that we have a feeling that she is someone who can find a home with a coach who has dabbled in it at times before. Team Miley.

Josh Halverson – This was an incredible way to end the show (our favorite voice of the night by far!), and after a quiet night, great news for Alicia: She’s got a new member of her team. Team Alicia.
