‘Gotham’ season 3, episode 2 video: Maggie Geha on Ivy’s evolution
When Ivy realizes what has happened to her, at first there will be a certain degree of fear / confusion, given that she won’t quite understand precisely what has transpired with her; however, not long after that she will start to realize that she likes this new version of herself, and there are certain skills that she can hone — including the art of seduction that Poison Ivy is so well known for. While she won’t be at the level of the popular comic-book version of the character just yet, she is certainly going to be someone worth watching in the weeks to come.
Now, of course there is going to be some controversy surrounding this casting, given that you are looking at a situation here where some fans liked the younger Ivy, and having her be a little more of a slow build was interesting in its own way. Yet, we understand where the show is coming from here. They want to generate some more excitement around the series early on this season, especially when you think for a minute about the ratings — they may be good enough for the show to continue, but not by a huge margin.
