‘Shark Tank’ video: Will Spoonful of Comfort deliver on interesting idea?

Shark Tank -The premiere of “Shark Tank” is right around the corner, but before we get to actually reviewing the premiere later tonight, we have one more preview we want to hand out!

Below, you can see a further spotlight all about Spoonful of Comfort, a product that is hopefully going to deliver on the premise to provide what is a substitute for being there to care for someone in their time of need. Rather than sending someone flowers, you can instead ship them something warm and comforting like a jar of soup, dinner rolls, and cookies to make them feel a little better. It’s a very interesting idea, especially given that if you’re feeling sick, the last thing you want to do is have to spend a lot of time cooking or getting something delivered that may not be good on your stomach.

We do think the presentation below is solid, and most importantly, the Sharks seem to enjoy the taste of the soup. If they don’t like the quality, that’s almost an instant “I’m out.”

While everything is positive here so far, note that we haven’t heard the sales or the growth plan just yet. From our own research, what we like is that there are some customization options out there for people who want to personalize the delivery. We also like that there are options where you can get the care package to someone within a day if need be. The biggest issue we see here is mostly that for the average consumer, spending $59-$69 before shipping is a little much, and while it is reasonably comparable to flowers, we do know of some places you can do that a little cheaper without sacrificing quality. The use of the service really comes down to how far you’re willing to go for someone you care about.

In the end, we do think that Spoonful of Comfort is an interesting idea that could be worthy of an investment, mostly because they have found a little niche that is different than most everything else we’ve seen in the market today.

Some other notable things from tonight’s premiere:

1. Daymond John has hair! We’re going to have to get used to that.

2. For the first time, all six regularly-appearing Sharks are going to be in the Tank together.
