‘The X Factor’ UK video: Irina Dedyuk performs during Six-Chair Challenge
This weekend, the Six-Chair Challenge will officially be underway on “The X Factor” UK, and judging from the video sneak peek below, we are in store for some theatrics from at least one of the contestants!
We’re speaking specifically here of Irina Dedyuk, a woman who was compared at times to a “Bond villain” by the judges the first time around. She’s very confident in not only her singing ability, but also in how to own the stage and keep most of the attention on her. At times, you could argue that it’s a little much or intimidating, but we’ll always say that we would much prefer someone come out with this sort of vibe as opposed to someone who is exceptionally timid and doesn’t quite know how to be on stage.
As for Irina’s vocals on “Mama Knows Best,” that is where there could be some division. While she does hit the vast majority of the notes, at the same time we do think there is something odd about her deliver that is hard to shake. There is still a quality in her voice that brings to mind Cher, but the one thing about Cher is that she’s incredibly polarizing. You either love her voice or you don’t, and we do feel like you’re going to say the same exact thing here. There will be some people who just don’t enjoy this performance regardless of how much they may want to.
We’ll see over the weekend if Irina does manage to impress the judges enough to move onward to Judges’ Houses, the next phase of the competition.
