‘The X Factor’ UK: Ivy Grace Paredes forced to withdraw over visa issue
There’s some rather-sad news coming out now regarding the current crop of contestants for “The X Factor” this coming season, and in particular one in Ivy Grace Paredes who probably had a reasonably good shot to go far into the season: She’s been forced to withdraw over being able to make it to the United States on a visa.
Basically, the Judges Houses for Sharon Osbourne’s team are being held in Los Angeles, and per The Sun, there was an issue that kept her from being able to travel there:
“Ivy was a real hope for the judges after her audition but her dreams are in tatters. She was point blank refused the visa. X Factor tried their best to help, but ran out of time … There has been talk of a past issue causing problems but no one but Ivy knows the reason.”
For those wondering why she needs this when other people can travel from the UK to America all the time, it’s because appearing on the show technically qualifies as work, and you have to be able to get the necessary document in order for that to work out. It’s a bummer for her, but maybe she can get it sorted out and return next year.
The show itself had the following to say in a statement:
“There was an issue with her application being approved. That meant she was not granted a visa in time and sadly had to withdraw from the competition.”
Because of this departure, the presumption is that someone else from Sharon’s Overs will be added to her lineup and get another crack at the competition.
