‘Poldark’ season 2, episode 4 preview: Aidan Turner’s Ross finds deals to be made

Tonight on BBC One, “Poldark” altered course once more. After spending much of the first two episodes focusing on Ross’ trial, tonight we saw a story that was more geared towards questions as to whether or not Aidan Turner’s character could bring his family back from financial ruin. There were options to turn things around, but not many of them were particularly pleasurable. Then again, it’s hard to imagine that anyone would have thought they would be, given that this is a show that has already shared some pretty depressing moments such as killing off an infant in a season finale.

So where could Ross go next week? According to the BBC, he may be desperate enough to start a rival mine free devoid of George’s influence that he opts to make a deal with a local smuggler. Is this risky? Absolutely, but at the same time he may be able to turn things around for the family in the process. He just better hope that he can take on George when he inevitably comes his way.

As for elsewhere in the hour, be prepared to see Dwight in a more substantial role than usual. He will receive a little bit of money from an unknown source, and he will be able to potentially use that in order to solve a medical mystery. After some odd exchanges tonight, there are certainly some possible candidates as to who this benefactor could be…

As a whole, we’re only 30% of the way through this season; therefore, there is reason to believe that there is plenty of time for both successes and failures aplenty.
