‘Blindspot’ season 2 premiere reaction: Who is Alice Kruger?

The season 2 premiere of “Blindspot” aired on NBC Wednesday night, and there is clearly one thing that we can say about it at present: This is a show no longer messing around when it comes to big reveals!

Let’s start with what may be the biggest one to many people out there: Jane Doe is Taylor Shaw is Alice Kruger. Is this her real name? It seems to be that way, as we learned via her backstory that the character was actually born in South Africa, and she spent much of her early years within a training program. She never really had much of a start at a normal life.

Luckily, there were some people who took care of her, including Shepherd, an American soldier who chose to adopt Jane from the orphanage alongside a boy. These two were eventually granted the opportunity to select their own names, and they went along with Remy for Jane and Roman for the boy. These two currently have some plans for Jane, but at the same time you have to wonder this: Are they being honest? Are we being set up for a similar future to what we had with Oscar in season 1?

If nothing else, you have to give the premiere credit for trying to go with something big, bold, and different than anything that they’ve done so far on the series. Here’s to hope that it ends up delivering as we get further and further along into the season.
