‘Shark Tank’ revisited: Drip Drop Ice Cream Cone, MyDrinky, GameDay Couture, Jarrett & Raja, KidRunner
We’re almost to the start of a new season of “Shark Tank.” Rejoice! Tonight, ABC is replaying an episode that first aired back in April, and we are glad to see where many of these businesses are now given that there weren’t exactly many deals in the original airing.
For those wondering, the update segment on tonight’s show is for GameDay Couture, which has a wide array of fashions to suit your favorite collegiate or NBA team. One other thing they’re doing that is smart is that they’ve also got a number of fashions based mostly on team color, that way you can be dressed appropriately even if you don’t want a sports logo on you.
Drip Drop – Given that the two guys behind this business and the patent are teenagers, it’s best that they find someone willing to get a license for what is an effective innovation to the standard ice-cream cone. We do think that it is a smart idea, but we suppose the main problem that they could have is that the cost per unit of these versus the standard cone may be so high that for many shops, it may not be worth the gamble.
Jarrett & Raja – We do admire the gusto that came with these two bringing their music / magic act into the tank, but we’re not shocked that it didn’t get a deal simply because entertainment properties are by and large a crapshoot. Still, you gotta love the hustle that they seemingly continue to have, given that we do continue to see them active on social media and getting their names out there.
KidRunner – They are still in the pre-order phase, and that’s well and good; to us, though, the saddest thing about writing this update is that other than a brief message on Facebook, they’ve been virtually gone from social media since the show. We were never the biggest fan of just the idea in the first place, but of course we do like to see more headway than we are here.
MyDrinky – First things first, we’re glad that Inchbug (the company behind this and many other things) have separated the two slightly online to the extent that it’s a little bit clearer for casual consumers what exactly this is and how to use it. While we’re not sure we can say whether or not it was a great move passing on a deal, they seem to be the furthest along in terms of success and their company since appearing on the show.
