‘Luke Cage’ spoilers: Everybody wants to be the king in new sneak peek
With the September 30 premiere of “Luke Cage” coming ever closer, we’re glad to see Netflix is still working overtime when it comes to releasing some sneak previews of what you can expect. For the latest evidence of that, you don’t have to look any further than what we’ve got for you below.
In the sneak peek, the focus is mainly on Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali), a nightclub owner in Harlem who serves as an adversary to Mike Colter’s title character. We get a lengthy monologue in here about a crown and a certain portrait that is on the back wall, and for the most part we’d say that this is fairly fantastic. There is a certain “Mr. Robot” vibe that we get out of watching it from a cinematography point of view, given that this show does tend to make a lot out of a little and it feels ultimately like this series could be doing something similar.
While there’s not enough context in here for us to know precisely how things are going to be with this character on the show itself, we’re certainly excited to get to the point where we’ll have a little bit more information on that subject. for now, we’ll just say that this is clearly a series that is giving us a lot to be excited about, especially since we’ve got the perfect combination of a great hero and some villains who wield enough power to be dangerous to the community that Luke is trying to protect.
Hopefully, this also isn’t going to be the last preview that Netflix decides to release.
