‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 goes all in on Ghost Rider in new promo

We know that there were some good reasons to be excited for “Agents of SHIELD” season 4, and the latest promo via ABC finally shows off something that we’ve been calling them to do for quite some time: Really put the Ghost Rider character in the spotlight. After all, if the goal really is to hype up this man’s arrival as the selling point of the season, it’s nice to see them actually doing it!

The promo below, while short, does contain some of the most footage of the character we’ve seen since Gabriel Luna was first cast. We definitely think the look of the car is even better than we first imagined, while we also appreciate just how haunted Robbie Reyes looks himself. This was always a character who followed the beat of a different drummer in a dangerous direction, and what we’re getting now is a little bit further proof of that.

As a matter of fact, the show is so desperate to promote the Ghost Rider arc that they put it below the logo at the end of the promo.

We suppose that for casual fans, the recent change in Ghost Rider in the comics may not be something that they are aware of, and with that in mind some nostalgia-seekers could presumably be disappointing that we’re not going in the direction of Johnny Blaze. Yet, at the same exact time we feel personally like it’s a good thing that we’re getting a new version of Ghost Rider for this generation; did anyone really have that positive of a feeling about the Blaze version after the Nicolas Cage movie?
