‘The Bachelor’: Who’s criticizing Nick Viall selection now?
At this point, it shouldn’t be much of a shock to anyone that everyone within Bachelor Nation has an opinion about Nick Viall chosen to be the next lead. Some of the opinions we understand, and some frustrate us to no end.
When it comes to the latest one from former Bachelorette contestant Robby Hayes regarding Nick’s “The Bachelor” hire, it’s ultimately a little bit of both. Speaking to Us Weekly, he seemed to have a pair of problems in particular with the two-time Bachelorette contender / “Bachelor in Paradise” alum getting the call:
“I thought [producers] would go with someone younger, someone with a little more energy to bring to the table that, frankly, hasn’t been around the block a couple times.”
Wait, is Robby calling Nick “low energy” just like Donald Trump did Jeb Bush? Okay, we’re not going down that road … just a joke people!
Anyhow, we do understand the viewpoint that Nick has done this franchise a lot, and part of the appeal of watching “The Bachelor” is that typically, you only know them from one season of “The Bachelorette” and there is something still to be learned. That may not be the case here.
As for the age, we don’t have any issue with someone who is a little older, given that love doesn’t really know any age limit. The one hope that we have is that the show’s producers actually try to get more than a few women over 30 onto the show this season, just so that there are some people who can connect to Nick when it comes to life experience.
