‘Dancing with the Stars’ pro Mark Ballas reportedly heading to Broadway
While we know there were many “Dancing with the Stars” fans out there excited about the return of Derek Hough and Maksim Chmerkovskiy to the ballroom for this coming season, we know that there were also some questions about the absence of a longtime pro who hasn’t missed much time since he made his first appearance: Mark Ballas. He’s won several Mirrorball Trophies and become renowned as a choreography, so seeing him gone from the cast this season was a shock.
So where is he going? When he first made the announcement of his exit on Instagram (see below), Mark didn’t exactly specify what his future held. However, at the same exact time we’re getting some other news on that subject now.
Per a report from Entertainment Tonight, Mark is heading to New York where he will appear in a major role in “Jersey Boys.” This is a significant change for him, but at the same time it seems to suit his talents well. We already know what he can do with choreography, and he is certainly a talented singer in his own right.
Does this mean that he is done with “Dancing with the Stars” for good? Far from it. One of the things that comes with being a pro on this show is the flexibility to pop in and out as various projects come and go. If Mark has the time to return in the future, we’re pretty confident the producers would love to have him back.
