‘Arrow’ season 5 photo: Take a look at Prometheus

While the past two seasons “Arrow” featured some much-hyped villains such as Ra’s al Ghul and Damien Darhk, this time around the series is taking a much quieter approach. Rather than really pouring a lot of attention into the new menace set to potentially haunt Star City, all we’ve got roughly for now are a few pieces of information.

See the hooded figure in the photo above? That is Prometheus, and he could be one of the most notable villains of the season. Like Oliver Queen, he is an archer, and he also is capable of doing some extremely dangerous stuff. We don’t know who is behind the mask just yet, but we have heard that they will be a new character (this doesn’t seem to be based on the DC Comics villain who is already out there) and that he will be tied into the overall season 5 theme of legacy.

One of the more interesting theories that is out there already is that he could be someone Oliver originally trained back in Russia, which would sent his whole training story now full-circle. Another could be that this is an alter-ego of someone he is training in the present. Either way, the whole thought process here is that he will likely have a motivation for what he is doing, and judging from the fact that he wears a mask, he does feel like he has something to lose by the world seeing his identity. This certainly makes him different from Damien or Ra’s, who were known figures and entities within certain circles.
