‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: New ‘Flashpoint’ photos highlight Barry, Kid Flash

With the premiere date for “The Flash” rapidly approaching (though we do wish it would at warp speed), we are certainly rather thrilled to have a little bit more in the way of information about it. Today, that includes some of the first photos (via TVLine) from the first episode entitled “Flashpoint.”

The big selling point for this episode seems to be the alternate-universe in which Barry Allen’s parents are both still alive, and presumably quite a bit has changed for him as a result. In this world, Wally West is adorned with the speed force, which is why you have him in the costume above. While we’re not sure he is named Kid Flash on the show, that is name within the comic-book universe.

One of the more interesting questions here revolves around one fairly-simple question: Why is Barry there as The Flash, as well? Is there something more going on here beyond what we realize? Our feeling was that the idea of Flashpoint was that Barry’s entire life was going to change, and in this world maybe we were going to see Wally carry out the duties of The Flash instead.

We know that there will be some answers coming our way soon enough, so our simple hope is that they find a way to deliver on our expectations, and give us a story that proves to be every bit as exciting as we would hope for it to be going in. The Flashpoint arc is slated to last more than one episode, so rest assured this will not be the end of the road entirely.
