Hillary Clinton offers support to ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Leslie Jones after hack

Leslie Jones -The past 24 hours have been truly disturbing in the life of Leslie Jones, after a hacker invaded her personal website and released a wide array of personal information about her, including some personal explicit photos and also ways to contact her. It was a truly horrific display, and it comes after the “Saturday Night Live” star experienced a tumultuous summer with racist users on Twitter following the release of “Ghostbusters.”

In the wake of everything that happened, there have been plenty of people who have come out in support of Jones, and that even includes the Democratic candidate for President. In a post on Twitter, Hillary Clinton offered up some of her support, making it clear that “no one deserves” what she’s been through — especially “someone who brings us so much joy.”

Clinton has likely met Jones on at least one occasion previously, given that she made a brief appearance near the start of this past season. We’re not sure how long she stuck around for, but the Clintons have been familiar with “SNL” in one way or another for a rather long time. Darrell Hammond famously played Bill for many years, while Amy Poehler and now Kate McKinnon have both offered up impressions of Hillary.

The new season of “Saturday Night Live” begins this fall; as previously reported, the remainder of the season 41 cast is returning following the departures of Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, and Jon Rudnitsky. We’re already looking forward to seeing Jones back in her element there, even though we also enjoyed some of the humor that she brought to NBC’s coverage of the Olympics over the past couple of weeks.
