TV Friendships: Can ‘Power’ season 3 still bring Ghost, Tommy closer together?

Tommy -The third season of “Power” has at times left James St. Patrick powerless, especially when it comes to his knowledge or lack thereof when it comes to some of the moving parts around him. He didn’t know entirely that so many walls were closing in on him, but moving forward this season, the presence of Tommy back in his life may serve as an education. Suddenly the old gang is back together, and they’ve got reasons to dip back into some of the old world.

In going beyond business, Tommy and Ghost are practically family thanks to their history together. Is all that happened water under the bridge? What’s next for the two of them? We do want to profile some of that in the latest chapter of our TV Friendships series.

Where we left off – On this past episode, Tommy killed Holly in this midst of his rage and pain after learning that she had hired someone to kill his best friend; not only that, she made it clear that there was nothing he could do. Ghost eventually found him, and the two seemed to, in both verbal and non-verbal fashion, hash out many of their issues. Tommy had been told to kill Ghost by Lobos, and now, he’s potentially looking at things in a new way, one where the two of them could find a way to team up with this unified goal in mind.

Where we’d like to see them go from here – Obviously, these two work better together with a purpose in mind, and now they’ve got that. While we’re not sure this can ever be akin to season 1 Ghost and Tommy given that they’ve collectively been through too much, we do want to see some of the spirit and partnership back once more. Of course, at some point down the road we’d also love to see Tommy find a way to get out of the dangerous life he perpetually surrounds himself in, but that may be an end-of-series plot since if he and Ghost are living free, what is there to write?

As for whether or not all is forgiven in terms of the past, they may be a little wary of each other at times; yet, after Tommy did what he did to Holly with Ghost as the primary motivating factor, we’re not sure there is any turning back.
