‘Ink Master’ season 8, episode 10 preview: A ‘special canvas’ and other drama

Ink MasterTonight, “Ink Master” on Spike delivered one of the most grueling elimination tattoo challenges in the show’s eight-year history, given that it required the remaining artists to have to create effectively two six-hour head tattoos on different canvases over the course of a couple of days. Mike ended up leaving, and it was in a fairly controversial decision given that for the most part, the perception was that his tattoos were not necessarily bad. They were just, per the judges, worse on average than the average of the other artists.

Given that there are only nine artists remaining in the competition, we gotta think things are going to become even more competitive here on out.

The preview for net week’s episode hinted at a “very special canvas” that is coming up, and we also saw them working on cars seemingly for the Flash Challenge. Is that what Dave Navarro is talking about? It also of course showcased some more of the typical competition drama, with artists trying to defend themselves to both the judges and each other.

For people out there rooting for the women’s alliance, the three ladies who were there tonight are all still standing — not only that, but they continue to do good work. Alliance aside, if they put in the performances that they did tonight (especially Ryan, who was outstanding), they could easily all make it to the finale or close to it.
