‘The X Factor’ UK bosses deny the latest (and ridiculous) ‘fix’ claim
If you were interested in doing a drinking game tied to “The X Factor,” this would be it: Take a swig anytime you hear someone proclaim that the show is somehow rigged. Then again, don’t do this, given that you would probably be dead if you did. Everyone always claims that there is something shady up with this series, but for the most part we’ve never really seen any sort of actual truth to the claims. Not only that, but it’s hard to claim anything is fixed in the end when the public decides the winner, and the show consistently releases the statistics year after year.
The latest batch of “fix” rumors stemmed mostly from the notion of Simon Cowell confidante / occasional adviser Sinitta working with The Brooks, a duo act participating this season. However, a rep for the show firmly denied to the Mirror that there was any such wrongdoing:
“The Brooks have received no special treatment and have not been guaranteed a place in the competition. Neither have there been any problems raised about their attitude. All acts are auditioned on the merit of their performances and nothing else.”
Ultimately, the biggest thing that we want from this show, especially when it comes to the early rounds, is entertainment. We want to be able to live and enjoy this show again, and not be so stressed-out by all of the drama and conflict. The new season premieres later this summer, so we’ll have some further news soon!
