‘Empire’ season 3 promo is all about Cookie, Lucious

The third season of “Empire” is coming up this fall, and as per usual with this show, it’s really all about the Lyons. They’re passionate, dysfunctional, at times lovable, and at times easy to loathe. Yet, you are compelled to keep watching them through and through.

In one of the latest promos released by Fox below, you can see the focus put mostly on the family — and specifically, Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie. She’s been a ride-or-die for Lucious (Terrence Howard) throughout the series to date, and we figure that he will continue to try to keep her at his side.

With that being said, these two (as per usual) have some serious issues to hammer out. Namely, there’s the problem stemming from his wedding decision in the finale, which any normal person would have some sort of reaction to. How could you not, given the circumstances?

As a whole, we’re mostly just intrigued to see how this show will continue to flip the script for these two and continue to give them interesting content without it feeling repetitive or like you are milking the relationship simply for the sake of doing so. After all, there are certainly some people out there who could treat Cookie better, especially in a more consistent manner that he is.

While this promo is largely a compilation of sorts of the pair’s relationship, rest assured that Fox will release more information on the new season prior to the premiere. After all, they’d be rather crazy not to given the hype out there.
