‘Girl Meets World’ season 3, episode 10: More perspective on Katy – Shawn wedding

Tonight’s new episode of “Girl Meets World” is just about upon us, and it’s far from your ordinary episode of the show. (Then again, is there such a thing as an “ordinary” episode of this show? We’re not quite sure.)

Anyhow, tonight’s “Girl Meets I Do” is the long-awaited wedding episode featuring Shawn Hunter and Katy Hart hopefully tying the knot. It marks a big change for the Maya character as she and her mother enter a new phase of their lives, and to go along with that, it is a great chance to bring back Rider Strong for a super-nostalgic “Boy Meets World” story that will also feature the return of William Daniels as Mr. Feeny.

In speaking about this big ceremony to TVLine, Cheryl Texiera (who plays Katy) made it clear precisely what sort of crazy perspective she had on things:

“I was a ’90s kid, so I grew up watching Boy Meets World … When I found out that Katy was going to be marrying Shawn, I called my brother — who’s a year and a half younger than me — and he freaked out. He was like, ‘Cheryl, imagine if someone walked into our living room in 1993 and was like, ‘Hey, by the way…’’ and that really gave me some perspective.”

Isn’t there something comforting and fun in knowing that the grown-up actors on “Girl Meets World,” especially the ones who were not a part in the original show, are fans of the original on the same level that many of us were? It adds that other layer of charm to the show.
