‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 4 spoilers: ‘The Blacklist’ alum snags key role in Inhuman story
Is anyone ready to see “Agents of SHIELD” become a little bit more like the very first “X-Men” feature film? Well, there is a certain aspect of the casting that we have today that is reminiscent of that.
According to a new report from IGN, “The Blacklist” alum Parminder Nagra is going to be appearing in multiple season 4 episodes of the ABC series as a very important political figure, one who is in turn going to make her lack of trust in Inhumans exceptionally clear. Who knows what her paranoia and fear towards them could end up doing to the entire landscape of America?
What makes this storyline interesting, and in turn why so many movies and shows have used it, is because it narrows down to a basic human truth: Generalizing the many based on the few. There are legitimate reasons to be afraid of some Inhumans, given that they are dangerous, borderline unstoppable in the moment, and represent something completely foreign to oneself. Yet, at the same time there are countless good ones who want to use their powers to improve the human race. You have to ultimately embrace the good, and then come up with as many different safeguards as you can for the bad and try to ensure that Inhumans have the support to not go down that road.
How this story is handled will be what makes or breaks at least part of the early portion of season 4, which we know already will contain a number of other interesting twists and turns including Ghost Rider and a new Director played by Jason O’Mara. Ultimately, it’ll be quite interesting to see all this unfold.
