‘Big Brother 18’ episode 23 review: An overhyped Veto speech and more

Michelle -We have to admit that there was a certain percentage of Wednesday night’s “Big Brother” that we found frustrating, and it had mostly to do with the guys all getting together and laughing about how “awesome” they all were for breaking some of the women in the game emotionally.

Overall, it’s not about whether or not we like X person better than Y person; the reality is that TV is better when it is an ebb and flow, and the natural tendency is to root for chaos. Therefore, people we previously rooted against like Michelle are now worth rooting for, since they are trying to give us something exciting as a viewer. While Big Meech didn’t win the Power of Veto (a reprisal of the familiar “hide your Veto in the house”), we were hoping that she provided some drama courtesy of her Veto speech … but we’re not entirely sure it was as great as advertised. The only thing she really did was make it clear that Paulie has won a ton of competitions … in a very subtle fashion.

As a whole, this show provided some entertainment just because we do always enjoy this particular Veto, but most of the strategy just wasn’t that interesting since it was all about watching the guys run amok, including Paulie scheming to ensure James uses his power in a way that suits him. Meanwhile, we kept hearing on the feeds how Michelle’s Veto speech got people all wound up — we’re wondering if something was cut here, or these people are insanely paranoid.

Either way, we’re really just waiting for Double Eviction tomorrow.
