The past several weeks, we’ve certainly had a chance to see plenty of “MasterChef” air on Fox. As a matter of fact, there was even one particular occasion in which we saw two separate episodes play out over the course of a single night!
Hopefully, all of this is enough to make up for the news that, alas, there will be no new episode coming your way on Wednesday night. The reason for that is effectively rather simple: The Olympic Games in Rio. The series understandable doesn’t want to run up against that sort of competition, given that it would be damaging to not only its ratings, but its long-term viability the rest of the season. You don’t want to have to rely on viewers having to catch up on the show because they were busy watching something else on the night. You want them to be ready and engaged for each new episode as they come.
The show will return on August 24 with new episodes, and with that, we presume that there will be new episodes the remainder of the season. Given how many contestants are left in relation to the number of weeks between that date and the end of the summer season, we presume that there will either be some more double-eliminations or double-episodes coming in the future. As we get closer to that, we should have an exclusive sneak peek and a whole lot more. We may even bust out some contestant rankings before that time.
