‘UnREAL’ season 2 star BJ Britt heads over to Fox’s ‘Pitch’

Following his time as Darius on “UnREAL” season 2, BJ Britt is quickly finding some other work elsewhere.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Britt (who has also been rather busy courtesy of “Being Mary Jane”) will play a key part on Fox’s upcoming baseball drama “Pitch” as the character Will. He is the older brother of our main character Ginny (Kylie Bunbury), a young female pitcher who manages to break into Major League Baseball with the San Diego Padres. Will does his part to help manage Ginny and prepare her for her future, and remains very close to her throughout the highs and lows of her career.

It is no surprise to see Britt land another role so quickly, given that we always expected this to be a one-season commitment to “UnREAL” given the Suitor only sticks around “Everlasting” for a season. Given everything that has been done to him as a result of this show, there’s zero reason to ever want to stick around it moving into the future.

With that being said, we do think that there’s always a chance Darius turns up again in the future. We spoke to him about that earlier this week, and he told us that anything is possible.

In general, we’re interested in seeing precisely how “Pitch” fares given that we haven’t quite seen a sports drama like this on TV; it feels almost like an inspirational sports movie, and sustaining it week-to-week could be one of its greatest challenges. Still, we are very much excited to see how all of this pans out.

Stay tuned, as we’re going to have further updates as we get closer to the show airing!
