‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Lost’ alum cast in particularly dangerous role

Do we now have confirmation on our next “Sleepy Hollow” big bad? While we cannot go that far just yet, signs seem to be pointing in that direction.

According to a report from TVLine, for “Lost” actor Jeremy Davies (who played Daniel Faraday) has been booked for a significant arc as Malcolm Dreyfuss, a man who became incredibly successful in the tech industry at a very young age, and since amassing more than a billion dollars has taken to wielding some of that power. Who knows how far he’ll be willing to go in order to spread his influence? Given the nature of this show, odds are that there will eventually be some sort of supernatural component.

What is intriguing to us about this part more so than anything else is that we’re getting more of a modern villain for the show this time around, and not someone either steeped in mythology or from Ichabod Crane’s original time. This marks another opportunity for him to have to interact with the modern world, which should be even more of a crazy experiment this year given that he is in a new place in Washington DC, and without Abbie Mills following the character’s death at the end of the third season.

It’s still incredibly hard to figure out whether or not another season of this show is worth our time given the polarizing second season and the incredibly-depressing end to the third, but we do appreciate Davies’ work and acknowledge that he is someone worthy of watching in some more work. Whether or not this show is it remains to be seen.
