Ratings: ‘The Bachelorette’ ties Kaitlyn Bristowe finale; ‘Supergirl’ set up well for season 2

JoJo -While not everyone out there may be satisfied with this past season of “The Bachelorette,” we know that there is one group of people who definitely is: The executives over at ABC.

The two-hour finale, which featured JoJo Fletcher picking Jordan Rodgers over Robby Hayes, drew a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic that was even with the finale from Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season. This season was almost even one-for-one with last year’s show, and probably would have finished ahead were it not for some odd scheduling quirks thanks to holidays and the NBA Finals here and there. (We ran into more bad luck here than usual.)

Ultimately, with ratings like these ABC is probably going to be giving us season after season of this franchise for years to come.

“Supergirl” factor – One other thing we were curious to watch going into this week was how the Melissa Benoist superhero show would fare on The CW, even in repeats. For the first two episodes, it did great in scoring a 0.4 and 0.5 rating, which is a cut above some of The CW’s new programming, including shows like “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and recent episodes of “The Originals.” One caveat here is that “Supergirl” may have been inflated somewhat thanks to MLB preemptions in select markets.

In the end, we feel like The CW will be pleased if new episodes draw more than a 1.0 rating. This would make it the #2 show on the network behind only “The Flash.”
