‘The Celebrity Apprentice’: Donald Trump not returning anytime soon, even if he loses election

Apprentice -In the event that Donald Trump loses the Presidential election, the presumption here is that he will go back to living a normal life, or whatever a normal life for someone like him could be. For him in the past, that has included being the host on “The Celebrity Apprentice” over on NBC.

So could that be on his radar after the election? Even if he does lose, it doesn’t appear like it. While at NBC’s presentation during the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt made it clear that so long as he is at the network, there is no intention to ever bring the show back. While the network did end up bringing Trump on to host “Saturday Night Live,” the end of his time with the network was a messy one in between the Miss USA Pageant (which he no longer owns) and the condemnation of many of his remarks.

We admire NBC for trying to stay out of the shark-infested political waters with “The Apprentice” franchise, even though hiring Trump back for it if he loses would probably lead to some enormous ratings for the show. They have a great contingency plan anyways, given that Arnold Schwarzenegger has already filmed a new season with a new cast. That should air in the new year.

Regardless of your political beliefs, we do think that what the world needs right now is a new season of the show — it’s completely ridiculous, hilarious, and a provider of more secondhand embarrassment than you’ll ever know what to do with. We’ll be covering it wall-to-wall whenever it does premeire.
