‘Preacher’ season 2: Premiere date expectations for AMC series
Tonight, “Preacher” season 1 is coming to a close on AMC, and hopefully it’ll be doing so with a flourish that pleases the majority of the diehard fans of the series that are out there. It’s running longer than the standard hour, which may be a fine that the series is really trying to cram as much content in here as humanly possible.
Now, let’s briefly talk about the future, at least in terms of generic details. First things first, the show was renewed earlier this summer, so there is no need to worry about whether or not the show will be coming back. It is. The bigger question is going to be just where some of these characters will be, and if the show will find some further ways to surprise you. One thing that will be different about the second season is that it’ll have a larger episode order in 13. As for where these episodes are going to air, given that the summer schedule on Sunday nights is already crowded, that is a perfectly good question.
In terms of a premiere date, there is not anything confirmed at this time about it … which is quite a bummer since we’d love to see the show back in the summer. We figure there’ll be plenty of time for the show to sort that out, though. In general, we just hope that the season 1 success further empowers the show to go bigger, and taken even more unique risks and do things that are challenging and very exciting to watch.
