We must admit that any time we hear rumors about Robbie Williams and “The X Factor” at this point, we’re a little bit skeptical. After all, it feels as though we’ve been down this road many times before.
The good news is that the rumors this time seem to be true, but many websites out there are blowing them out of proportion. According to The Sun, Robbie will be a part of the show … but mostly as an adviser for the Judges’ Houses portion of the competition alongside Sharon Osbourne. There, he will meet the remaining members of the Overs category, watch them perform, and them help her decide who should go on to the live shows.
The reason this is being blown out of proportion slightly is because some people are labeling him a “co-judge” when that is not entirely an accurate depiction of his role on the show. Instead, you should consider him to be a little bit more of a helper. Sharon will have more than likely the final say on all acts on her team, but she could listen to Robbie as someone who has had great success over the course of his career with both Take That and a solo artist.
We’re sure that the remaining judges (Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh, and Simon Cowell) will also have some help moving forward this season, as well; hopefully, we’ll have some further insight on who they are working with over the coming days. The new season is now less than a month away from premiering!
