‘Scandal’ season 6 star Tony Goldwyn makes video appearance at DNC
While we’re not too interested in discussing the political side of the Democratic National Convention, we do have at least a new video now that allows for some further insight from at least one TV star who decided to take part in some of the big events from afar: Tony Goldwyn.
In the video below, you can see the “Scandal” star (who, like many other members of the Shonda Rhimes family, is an avid Hillary Clinton supporter) offering up a little bit of Presidential history while talking about the importance of change, and the nature of the achievement that is the first woman scoring a major party nomination for the highest office in America.
This video is not meant to be an attack ad, or really not even a direct proclamation of every single great thing Clinton has done — after all, there will be many people in person at the DNC who will sing her praises a little bit more directly. The real purpose of this is to paint the events taking place this week in a little bit more of a historical perspective, and it only makes sense to have one of the most famous fictional Presidents of the United States present to read off the lesson.
The sixth season of “Scandal” is going to premiere on ABC a little bit later this year, and while Goldwyn’s Fitzgerald Grant is still in the Oval Office now, by the end of the series, it’s possible that his ex-wife Mellie could have the gig. Stay tuned for more news!
